About The Position

The Logistician IV will perform Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) transactions to document material receipts, issues, and disposal. This role involves verifying receipt and shipping documents for accuracy, identifying and reporting material damage and discrepancies, and physically locating, counting, and tracking inventories. The Logistician IV will interface with customers, respond to equipment-related questions, and research NIINs, part numbers, and manufacturer numbers to ensure item accuracy. This position also involves tracking Inco requests, supporting fleet Inco status and ECIs, and receiving, sighting, disposing, disassembling, and inducting electronic rip-outs for submarine support. Key responsibilities include generating various logistical documents such as Material Transfer Requests (MTRs), Work Requests, shipping documents (1149s), return merchandise authorization (RMA) requests, and disposal documents. The role requires compiling shipping receipts, MTRs, failure data, work requests, part requests, and disposal documents to cross-reference data and resolve inventory discrepancies, as well as maintaining a database or Excel spreadsheet of all shipping documentation. Conducting cycle inventory spot checks to ensure accurate inventory and analyzing discrepancies for correction are also crucial. The Logistician IV will generate Material Inspection Reports (MIRs), prepare parts and materials for shipment in compliance with military standards (MIL-STD-2073), and track, trace, and upload classified media transmittal receipts in the Base Inventory Tracking System (BITS). The ability to work in a team environment is essential, and limited travel may be required.

Requirements

  • BS and 8-10 years experience, MS and 6-8 years experience, or PhD and 3-5 years experience
  • Fleet submarine experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Navy Logistics/Supply experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft office application suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Perform Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N-ERP) transactions to document material receipts/issues/disposal.
  • Verify receipt/shipping documents for accuracy; identify/report material damage and discrepancies.
  • Physically locate, count and keep track of inventories.
  • Interface with customers and respond to questions regarding equipment.
  • Research NIIN's, part numbers, and manufacturer numbers to ensure items are form/fit and function correct.
  • Track Inco requests and support fleet during each hulls’ Inco status and ECIs.
  • Receive, sight, disposition, disassemble, induct, & dispose of electronic rip‐outs from recently updated technical insertions for submarine support.
  • Generate Material Transfer Requests (MTRs), Work Requests, shipping documents (1149s), return merchandise authorization (RMA) requests, disposal documents.
  • Compile all shipping receipts (DD1149s), MTRs, failure data, work requests, part requests, disposal documents to cross reference data and solve inventory discrepancies. Maintain database/excel spreadsheet of all shipping documentation.
  • Conduct cycle inventory spot checks to maintain a completely accurate inventory and analyze discrepancies to correct any possible errors.
  • Generate Material Inspection Reports (MIRs).
  • Prepare parts/materials for shipment. Ensure they are packaged in compliance with military standard (MIL‐STD‐2073).
  • Track, trace, and upload classified media transmittal receipts in the Base Inventory Tracking System (BITS).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
