About The Position

The Logistic Manager is responsible for demand planning, scheduling, warehousing, and delivery. This role is a member of the site steering team and reports on the effectiveness and performance of the quality system. The manager verifies adherence to all procedures within Safety, Corporate / Site Quality System, Operational Procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices. They maintain contact with customers and carriers regarding quality and service in conjunction with the Quality Department and Corporate Procurement. The role involves reviewing the planning and scheduling of production, maintaining ISO standards, and ensuring that the Site Quality and Food Safety Policy, Operational Procedures and High Standards of Workmanship are maintained at all times. The manager is responsible for the accuracy of product scanning / inventories, maintaining and reviewing the Finished Goods Management Program to determine long term storage requirements, and verifying that scheduling is based on Business Demand Plan, Customer Orders, or Forecasts. They maintain and review the company’s information system or in-house system for warehouse analysis to monitor what to store, how much to store, and where to store the products that require inventory. The position monitors site capacity regarding supply / demand problems and assists in locating capacity from back-up site as directed by Product Supply. The manager provides for movement and storage of all finished product, monitors the assignment of carriers by lane and by customer, and is responsible for tracking mechanisms and accountability of key logistics measures. They maintain relationships with customers / carriers, and are responsible for the management of logistics associates, including hiring, training, and disciplinary actions. The role verifies proper trailer allocation and availability for daily activities, oversees operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. The manager coordinates logistic activities with other functions such as conversion, administration, quality, sales, and purchasing. They assist in analyzing contractual commitments, customer specifications, and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product. The role develops and implements activities to resolve problems in the area of logistics, and maintains relationships with carriers to ensure meeting of contractual agreements. Finally, the manager is responsible for reporting food safety issues to personnel with authority to initiate action and initiating action for food safety issues.

Responsibilities

Member of the site steering team
Reports on the effectiveness and performance of the quality system for the benefit of the Site Steering Team
