About The Position
Our Amissville, VA sawmill is hiring a Hardwood Log Scaler. This full-time role is an opportunity for someone with prior log scaling and/or grading experience to identify log types, grade and scale logs, and support domestic and export log resale and export-container loading. The position is at a hardwood lumber manufacturer and requires working safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on safety and quality.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience scaling logs; this is not an entry-level position.
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a focus on safety and quality.
Nice To Haves
- Prior log grading experience.
Responsibilities
- Identify log types.
- Grade and scale logs.
- Assist with domestic and export log resale.
- Assist with loading logs into export containers.
