This position is for someone who wishes to make Hospitality their career. The Lodging internship program is directed to entry-level Hospitality or Business college students to develop their hospitality skills by training them in all aspects of the Lodging Division operations. The person selected will spend a portion of their time working in the front of house lodging division. This position is intended to last for six months. Ideal candidates will be well-spoken, polite problem solvers who demonstrate a passion for pleasing others and an interest in building a meaningful career with a hospitality leader. Must comply with all company policies and procedures. To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required. Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests. Requirements

  • Must have excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to engage in extensive interaction with guests and peers using appropriate verbiage
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Entry-level Hospitality or Business college student
  • Computer skills in Windows applications
  • Understanding of basic math and general accounting
  • Must be able to make decisions under pressure
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage diverse tasks
  • Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
  • Must be able to sit or be on feet for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart and must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of Hospitality or customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Flexibility with scheduling for weekends and holidays
  • The Lodging Internship Program is directed to entry-level candidates gaining their Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or Business to develop their hospitality skills by training them in the front of house Lodging division.
  • Will learn and perform all aspects of Front Office operations including guest services and front desk operations
  • Escort guests to their rooms with a proper and accurate tour
  • Assist with vehicles, parking, and pulling around
  • Maintains bikes, bike racks, and golf cart inventories
  • Completes daily property rounds to ensure a 5-star appearance
  • Check-ins and check-outs, including luggage delivery and removal
  • Maintains fireplaces and the appearance of the pool
  • Prepares meeting areas when groups are scheduled and any other special events
  • Have excellent knowledge of property and all the activities it has to offer
  • Provides safe transportation for on the property or off property activities
  • Assist all other departments to meet the guest needs
  • Be familiar with all of the company’s past, present & future
  • All front desk duties, including answering phones and assisting guests with request
  • Prepare group resumes and all other information that is needed
  • Review each guest profile and reservation before they arrive to ensure it is correct
  • Responds to guest requests, CAT-C’s, and complaints as required
  • Perform guest check-ins and check-outs in accordance with policies and procedures
