About The Position

Baldface Lodge is seeking a Lodge Baker to join their kitchen team. This role is ideal for an experienced baker who thrives in a seasonal, lodge-based work environment and enjoys producing high-quality baked goods in a fast-paced, remote setting. The Lodge Baker will be responsible for providing fresh, high-quality baked goods for over 48 guests daily, including breakfast pastries, muffins, sandwich bread, cookies, and plated desserts. The position also involves assisting the kitchen team wherever needed to ensure an exceptional guest experience. Baldface Lodge offers a unique work environment with 7-day shifts, providing opportunities to disconnect and explore the surrounding mountain town of Nelson, BC, during days off.

Responsibilities

Prepare baked items for breakfast and lunches daily, including croissants, cinnamon buns, muffins, scones, loafs, and cookies.
Prepare lunch snacks catering to various dietary needs.
Bake parbaked bread for sandwiches and après, ensuring the Garde Manger Chef has sufficient supply for lunches.
Prepare simple and delicious plated desserts according to the set menu for dinner service, including alternate choices for guests with special dietary needs.
Assist kitchen staff with their tasks as needed.
Assist the Garde Mange with the preparation of snowcat lunches in the morning.
Maintain an accurate inventory of ingredients and prepare food orders for the assigned section, communicating needs to the Head Chef.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to expedite dinner service and complete nightly cleaning and kitchen shutdown procedures.
