About The Position

An elegant five-star bush lodge on a private Eastern Cape reserve is seeking a hands-on, experienced Lodge Anchor. The successful candidate will anchor the daily guest experience at an intimate luxury lodge, overseeing front of house, housekeeping, and administration with warmth and sound judgement. This is a live-in position.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management.
• Matric / National Senior Certificate.
• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within an intimate lodge or other high-touch hospitality environment.
• Proven ability to oversee front of house, housekeeping, and administration.
• Highly organised and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple operational details at once.
• Strong administration skills and computer literacy, with a sound understanding of operational systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and comfort handling guest enquiries.
• Confidence running daily operations while respecting the General Manager's authority.
• Warmth with guests and staff, and sound judgement under pressure.
• Keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic.
• Team player with a genuine passion for tourism and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Host guests from arrival to departure, including welcoming them after game drives and assisting with meal service.
• Coordinate rooming lists, menus, dietary requirements, and activity arrangements.
• Oversee front of house, housekeeping, and administration.
• Maintain consistently high standards across guest rooms, public areas, and staff presentation.
• Guide the team and report performance or disciplinary matters to the General Manager.
• Manage invoicing, filing, rosters, overtime calculations, and general lodge administration.
• Support stocktakes, curio shop stock control, and supplier liaison.
• Assist with functions, weddings, and catering during peak periods.
• Lead daily operations in the General Manager's absence, within delegated authority.
