About The Position

We are seeking a Locum Physician specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) to provide coverage in Alpena. This role involves both clinic operations and 24-hour call responsibilities. The clinic operates Monday through Thursday from 0730 to 1630, and Fridays from 0730 to 1200, with an expected patient volume of 2 patients per hour. Support staff includes 3 nurses per shift and a midwife. The physician will be expected to perform various procedures and manage a range of cases, including deliveries and gynecological surgeries. Electronic health records are managed through EPIC, with Dragon for dictation.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible within the last 5 years.
• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• PALS certification.
• Provide case logs evidencing 50 deliveries and 25 GYN procedures within the preceding 12 months.
• Graduation from a medical school listed on the California Approved List.
• Completion of ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship programs.
• Absence of significant malpractice claims.
• Clean NPDB report required prior to interview and submission.
• Three professional references from colleagues familiar with candidate’s work, dated within the last 18 months.
• Submission of case/patient logs demonstrating required clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Consideration for IMLC or waiting for a Michigan medical license is acceptable.
• Michigan medical license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour call coverage as per the specified schedule.
• Conduct clinic operations during scheduled hours.
• Manage patient volume of approximately 2 patients per hour.
• Perform procedures such as Suction D&C, Laparoscopy, NST interpretation, C-sections, Circumcisions, and Tubal ligations.
• Utilize EPIC electronic health records for documentation.
• Utilize Dragon for dictation.
