Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Tennessee (or ability to obtain licensure)
  • Associate-level experience in hospitalist medicine or internal medicine practice
  • Strong clinical reasoning, diagnostic, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient and team interaction
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and clinical documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site hospital environment
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care for adult patients in a hospital setting
  • Conduct patient admissions, discharges, and daily rounds to assess and manage treatment plans
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures
  • Collaborate with specialists, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital protocols and standards
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
  • Ensure continuity of care through effective handoffs and clear communication with the care team
