About The Position

Join our team as a Locksmith II, where you'll play a critical role in safeguarding facilities, assets, and sensitive information through the installation, maintenance, and management of high-security locking systems. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced mechanical and electromechanical locking technologies, including GSA-approved security containers, vaults, safes, and access control hardware in support of mission-critical operations.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of professional locksmith experience in commercial, institutional, industrial, government, military, or high-security environments.
  • Certified installer and technician for GSA-approved locking systems.
  • Demonstrated experience servicing, repairing, and maintaining high-security locks, security containers, safes, vaults, and key management systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of locksmith practices, keying systems, lock mechanisms, door hardware, and physical security technologies.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Government locking systems, security requirements, and industry-standard lock terminology.
  • Experience evaluating, troubleshooting, and correcting security hardware deficiencies in secure environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Certified Registered Locksmith (CRL), Certified Professional Locksmith (CPL), Certified Master Locksmith (CML), or equivalent industry certification.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), federal, intelligence community, or other high-security facilities.
  • Experience working with GSA security container programs and related government security requirements.
  • Knowledge of electronic access control systems and integrated security technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of locksmithing principles, methods, tools, and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of GSA-approved locks, security containers, vault systems, and key management programs.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electromechanical, and high-security locking technologies.
  • Knowledge of physical security requirements, access control principles, and asset protection practices.
  • Familiarity with Federal Government security standards and lock program requirements.
  • Advanced lock installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance skills.
  • Expertise in rekeying, master keying, impressioning, code cutting, and key duplication.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage inventories, records, and multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a wide variety of mechanical and electromechanical locking systems in secure and sensitive environments.
  • Service and maintain doors, locks, hinges, panic hardware, exit devices, padlocks, cabinet locks, locker locks, tubular locks, cylindrical locks, and specialty security hardware.
  • Diagnose lock and hardware malfunctions and perform corrective maintenance to restore functionality and security.
  • Prepare doors, frames, and associated hardware for lock and security device installation.
  • Install, service, repair, and maintain GSA-approved containers, vaults, safes, filing cabinets, and other secure storage systems.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot high-security locks and locking systems from manufacturers such as Kaba Mas, Sargent & Greenleaf, Lockmasters, Medeco, ASSA, and similar products.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of security containers to ensure continued compliance with applicable security requirements and operational standards.
  • Evaluate locking systems and security hardware for functionality, reliability, and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Cut, duplicate, code, and originate keys using manufacturer specifications, key codes, impressions, and duplication methods.
  • Identify keys by manufacturer, type, design, and application.
  • Rekey locks and interchangeable core systems while maintaining strict accountability and security controls.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate key-cutting and duplication equipment to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
