The Lock Shop Maintenance Specialist assists the Lock Shop Manager with the daily operations of the Access Department including scheduling and making job assignments. Oversee several security databases for the department. Keys Out Reports must be done daily. Ensure operation of all doors and door hardware including fire exit doors, exterior doors, and interior doors in all Student Affairs facilities. Installation of door hardware and cores in over 53 residence halls, dining centers, SECL spaces, and office facilities representing approximately 250+ lock changes a year. Assists with maintaining an inventory system of locks and lock changes in accordance with established procedures to assure security. Assists Lock Shop Manager with daily record-keeping and each semester key control audits. Works closely with outside contractors and vendors and issues temporary electronic access cards, ensuring that the cards are returned or deactivated, and regularly audits access cards. Receives and inputs requests for brass keys and electronic key box access. Works closely with Sign Shop Specialist and assists with the design and creation of university-approved signage for Student Affairs buildings. Maintains knowledge of departmental and university key and security policies.
