About The Position

We are seeking a licensed Funeral Director In Charge to guide the daily operations of one of our Columbus-area funeral homes. This is an opportunity for a motivated professional with strong leadership experience, exceptional communication skills, and a deep commitment to ethical, service-centered care. In this role, you will shape a positive, supportive workplace culture while ensuring every aspect of the funeral home operates with consistency and excellence. You will stay informed on company initiatives, uphold policies and procedures, and manage the full spectrum of administrative, operational, and marketing responsibilities. You will also oversee and develop staff, providing coaching, conducting performance reviews, and offering steady day-to-day guidance. Beyond operational leadership, you will set the standard for compassionate service. You will support families throughout the arrangement process with professionalism, respect, and sincerity, ensuring each service reflects our core values of excellence, trust, care, and growth. You will represent the funeral home within the Columbus community, contribute to local outreach and marketing efforts, and maintain high standards for service quality and facility presentation. Requirements

  • A two-year college degree, completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or job-specific skills acquired through on-the-job training or an apprenticeship program.
  • A minimum of five years of similar or related experience.
  • Valid Funeral Director's License in the location jurisdiction or the ability to reciprocate license.
  • Passing of both sections of the National Board Exam (NBE) as required by the state.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and meet the driving performance standards as determined by management.
  • MVR’s may be reviewed annually for compliance, and any conviction or at-fault accidents should be immediately reported to management.
  • Ability to travel by standard methods of transportation.
  • Proficiently communicate with management and supervised employees.
