2026 Local Government Case Competition
About The Position
The 2026 Local Government Case Competition, hosted by the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, will focus on a case challenge related to children and youth. Participants do not need prior familiarity with this population. This competition brings together teams of graduate students to solve a human service-related challenge. The event will take place from Tuesday, November 10, to Sunday, November 15, 2026, with two in-person events at the Human Services Building (1 Smithfield St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222): a Kick-Off Event on Tuesday, 11/10/26, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and Presentation Day on Sunday, 11/15/26, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Registration is confirmed upon submission of the completed form, and teams will be assigned on the kick-off night.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a graduate-level program
- Able to be onsite at 11/10/26 and 11/15/26 events (Human Services Building, 1 Smithfield St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222)
- Must have a social-security number or an EIN to be eligible for a cash prize
