About The Position

Northumberland County Children and Youth Services is seeking a Fiscal Technician to support the agency's vital financial operations. Requirements

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all ledgers and journals for Children and Youth to meet standard accounting procedures and state regulations.
  • Maintain subsidiary ledgers, computer databases, and card files to support quarterly expenditure reports.
  • Prepare weekly expense vouchers and post them to the agency accounting system using a complex structure.
  • Act as a liaison between the County Controller Office and the Agency for expenditure processing and payment.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly Title IV-E and TANF reports and help reconcile agency and county accounting records.
  • Determine proper posting of Resource and Adoptive Family Payrolls to appropriate cost centers.
