About The Position

The Department for Local Government (DLG) is seeking applicants for a Local Government Advisor I (LGA I) position within the Cities and Special Districts (CSD) Branch. This entry-level position serves as a primary point of contact for cities and Special Purpose Governmental Entities (SPGEs), providing guidance on reporting requirements, compliance processes, and routine troubleshooting. The position supports branch operations through communication management, electronic records administration, compliance support activities, and customer service functions.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and responding to inquiries received through the CSD shared mailbox.
• Providing guidance regarding reporting requirements and compliance processes for cities and SPGEs.
• Supporting compliance notification activities through preparation and tracking of correspondence.
• Performing electronic intake, records management, and communication retention activities.
• Conducting secondary verification of tax rate data as part of established internal control procedures.
• Assisting with Open Records Requests by locating and organizing records and communications.
• Supporting training coordination and SPGE public notice activities.
• Participating in cross-training to support operational continuity across program areas.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
