About The Position

BlueLinx is hiring a Local Driver Class A to deliver freight and handle customer product returns when required. Drivers properly secure loads using straps; tarping is not required. The role includes managing delivery paperwork, communicating professionally with customers, completing safety and DOT inspections, maintaining an electronic logbook, and directing customer unloading when necessary. The position offers home every night and weekend, daily guaranteed pay, first-shift hours, and flatbed and curtain-side trailers.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum age of 21.
• 12 months of recent, verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years.
• Safe driving record.
• Ability to secure loads.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Properly secure loads using straps; tarping is not required.
• Deliver freight accurately and on time, and handle customer product returns when required.
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers.
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate customer issues.
• Maintain a daily safety checklist and perform all required DOT inspections.
• Maintain an electronic logbook and complete trip reports.
• Direct customer unloading when required.
