About The Position

BlueLinx is hiring a Local Driver-CDL A to deliver freight safely and accurately, secure loads using straps (no tarping), handle customer product returns when required, and manage delivery paperwork. The role includes professional customer interaction, communication of customer issues, maintaining an electronic logbook and trip reports, completing daily safety checklists and required DOT inspections, and directing customer unloading when needed. The position offers first-shift hours and home every night and weekend. Drivers use flatbed and curtain-side trailers and safe, reliable equipment.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Minimum age of 21.
• 12 months of recent, verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the past 3 years.
• Safe driving record.
• Ability to secure loads.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Properly secure loads using straps; tarping is not required.
• Deliver freight accurately and on time, and handle customer product returns when required.
• Manage Proof of Delivery paperwork from customers.
• Interact professionally with customers and communicate customer issues.
• Maintain the daily safety checklist and perform all required DOT inspections.
• Maintain an electronic logbook and complete trip reports.
• Direct customer unloading when required.
