About The Position

The Local Driver will have a valid Class A CDL. This person will have a positive attitude, be willing to work as a strong team member, be a dependable and professional team leader, and be neat in appearance. The role involves performing timely deliveries for customers, maintaining a positive attitude with customers, and keeping a clean vehicle. The driver will also inspect trucks and record issues, reporting any mechanical problems to maintenance personnel. Regular and timely attendance is expected. The position also requires following 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes, and properly driving and utilizing a forklift, as well as performing physical labor tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes defensive driving techniques and follows traffic laws
• Maintains logs and records according to regulations
• Performs deliveries, pickups, loading and unloading when needed
• Submits to random drug and alcohol testing per DOT regulations
• Keeps medical certificate up to date
• Keeps commercial driver license up to date
• Operates company equipment in accordance with established safety procedures
• Perform timely deliveries for customers
