Local Delivery Driver
About The Position
SupplyHouse.com is hiring a full-time Local Delivery Driver for its New Jersey team and fulfillment center network. The position is based at the company’s 335,000-square-foot facility at 30 Apple Orchard Dr., Suite 1, Dayton, NJ 08810. Reporting to the Local Operations Supervisor, the driver ensures customer orders are delivered safely, securely, promptly, and accurately. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET. Starting pay is $22.00 per hour; the stated full pay range is $22.00 to $33.00 per hour, with starting pay set at the minimum of the range. The role involves loading, transporting, and delivering orders; checking inventory; following assigned routes; and communicating with local operations staff to address delivery errors. Drivers must follow transportation laws and safety procedures, maintain a safe driving record, and keep their delivery vehicle clean and functional. When needed, they may use forklifts and pallet jacks. The role may also include assisting other fulfillment center departments. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience driving a box truck.
- Ability to sit and drive for long periods of time (2+ hours).
- Ability to independently push and pull objects requiring up to 60 pounds of force; employees are expected to seek help or use appropriate equipment for tasks exceeding that amount.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8–10 hours and up to 20,000 steps per day.
- Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to check in and put away materials.
Responsibilities
- Load, transport, and deliver items to local customers.
- Review inventory to ensure the correct items are delivered to customers.
- Communicate regularly with the Local Operations Team Lead to review, monitor, and correct delivery errors.
- Communicate regularly with the local delivery route organizer and follow scheduled routes for daily deliveries.
- Abide by transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
- Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely when needed.
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean, safe, organized, and functioning properly.
- Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Adhere to the performance standards and expectations of the assigned department.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Local Operations Team Lead and/or SupplyHouse management, including assisting in other fulfillment center departments and following their expectations.
