About The Position

American Furniture Warehouse is seeking hard-working, motivated delivery drivers to provide professional, white-glove furniture delivery and outstanding customer experiences. Drivers deliver, assemble, disassemble, and remove furniture from customers’ homes; educate customers on product usage; and communicate company policies and procedures. The role involves driving a company delivery box truck, using company technology, and working with a delivery partner in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment. Drivers work 5–6 days per week, often six days during busy seasons, and must be available for flexible shifts, holidays, and weekends as required. The company provides required training, which is fully paid. Pay starts at $25 per hour during training, followed by commission-based pay. The posting states that average drivers make $75,000–$100,000 per year and first-year drivers average $30.59–$41.65 per hour. Requirements

Be honest and caring, representing the AFW brand.
Maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record, with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
Obtain and maintain a D.O.T. physical card; the company pays for it.
Own hand tools; the company states it can help with this.
Work closely and collaboratively with a delivery partner.
Be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies, including Dispatch Track and iPad.
Be able to drive a company box truck.
Be able to lift, lower, push, pull, and handle merchandise, including merchandise weighing up to 250 pounds, frequently and with a team.
Be able to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 10 hours or more daily, and perform lifting, gripping, bending, kneeling, stooping, and moving merchandise for extended periods.
Be able to work in confined or congested areas and in varying weather, lighting, noise, and flooring conditions.
High school diploma or GED preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted in lieu of a diploma.
Pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and fit-for-duty exam upon job offer.

Responsibilities

Represent American Furniture Warehouse professionally and courteously, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and exceptional customer service.
Drive a company delivery box truck on assigned delivery routes.
Use company technology platforms, including Dispatch Track and iPads, to manage deliveries and track progress.
Assemble and disassemble furniture carefully and correctly using appropriate tools.
Safely and efficiently load and unload merchandise from delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment.
Work with a partner to lift and transport merchandise in the warehouse and customers’ homes.
Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors, including explaining product features and company policies.
Work independently, manage tasks with minimal supervision, and demonstrate initiative.
Perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment for extended periods.
Maintain time management and organizational skills throughout each shift.
Collaborate with multiple departments to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Follow company safety protocols.
Read and verify invoices and UPC labels to ensure merchandise is correct.
Conduct pre-delivery inspections and inventory checks to verify order accuracy and merchandise condition.
Maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
Participate in required company-provided training programs.
Work a flexible schedule, including various shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.
