About The Position

Daikin Comfort Technologies Distribution, Inc. is seeking a professional, skilled Local Delivery Driver for its Branch Operations group at the Ft. Myers, Florida branch. The driver safely operates company trucks to deliver products on time to customer and company locations. The role also includes safely loading, unloading, and transferring products using equipment and forklifts at the branch, in trucks and trailers, and at delivery sites. Drivers provide effective customer service and assist with warehouse and front-counter duties as needed.

Requirements

At least 2 consecutive years of commercial vehicle driving experience.
Current valid driver's license and excellent driving record.
Must meet and pass DOT standards, including annual DOT screening.
Ability to safely operate a flatbed or box truck and, as needed, a forklift.
Ability to pass forklift training and delivery truck driving tests through the company's Prove It Pass It training within 30 working days of the start date.
Ability to safely load and transfer products to designated locations in a timely manner without causing damage.
Strong attention to detail and surroundings.
Ability to follow policies and established practices for branch, driving, and warehouse operations.
Good judgment, strong work ethic, integrity, dependability, and a results-oriented approach.
Ability to work well on a team and establish positive working relationships with employees and customers.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer skills, including data entry to process transactions and generate reports and orders.
Ability to multitask and assist with warehouse, front-counter, or other branch duties as needed.
Must be reliable and able to work assigned hours and days.
High school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of warehouse or logistics experience.
Previous training operating forklifts and delivery trucks.

Responsibilities

Load, unload, and deliver products safely to customer sites within designated time frames, using efficient routes.
Maintain logs and reports required for compliance with DOT and company safety and vehicle-operation policies.
Load, block, brace, and secure cargo properly.
Operate company trucks in compliance with driving, traffic, and transportation laws and regulations.
Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to transfer, load, and unload products, ensuring accurate products and quantities are loaded for customers.
Perform required pre-checks and post-checks of company vehicles and forklifts.
Perform warehouse duties and ensure accurate products and quantities are loaded or transferred for customers.
Notify the manager promptly of accidents, damage, violations, or concerns so corrective measures can be taken.
Follow housekeeping and safety practices.
Provide backup support for warehouse and front-counter operations as needed.
Perform additional projects and duties to support ongoing business needs.
