Local Delivery Driver
About The Position
A local manufacturer is seeking a 1st shift driver to work from 7:00am to 3:30pm. This role primarily involves assisting in the shipping department to prepare and palletize daily shipments. When not making deliveries, the driver will assist with other production tasks, such as assembly. Key responsibilities include operating various forklifts to load and unload both inbound and outbound freight and accurately recording freight information on bills of lading. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience driving forklifts and straight trucks up to 26ft in diverse traffic and weather conditions. The position requires the use of a company straight truck for local deliveries and pickups, with no over-the-road driving involved.
Requirements
- Proven experience driving forklifts
- Proven experience driving straight trucks up to 26ft in various traffic and weather conditions
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Must pass a D.O.T. physical
- Must pass a drug test
- Must be 21+ years old
Responsibilities
- Assist in shipping to prepare and palletize daily shipments
- Assist with other production tasks such as assembly when no deliveries are needed
- Use various forklifts to load and unload both inbound and outbound freight
- Record applicable freight information on a bill of lading
