About The Position

Drive a dedicated retail delivery fleet transporting merchandise to Target stores throughout the Chicago metro area, Northern Illinois, and Wisconsin. The position offers daily home time and local routes in Illinois and Wisconsin. Drivers deliver retail merchandise using primarily day-cab automatic-transmission trucks, including Freightliner and International equipment. Approximately 95% of freight is drop-and-hook and 5% involves live loading or unloading; freight is no-touch. Drivers have assigned trucks, with no slip seating, and trucks remain at the account while drivers are off duty. Additional account work may be assigned when retail freight is slow, and cross-training may include flatbed work. Paid online orientation is provided.

Average annual earnings are $89,000, with top 10% of drivers earning up to $105,000. Pay includes $0.65 per mile, $25–$35 per stop, $40 per backhaul stop, $16 per hour for detention, a $50-per-day weekend bonus, and $300-per-day holiday pay, with safety bonus opportunities. Holiday work may be required, including Thanksgiving; drivers are scheduled to be off on Christmas Day.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
