Local Class A CDL Driver
About The Position
International Paper is seeking a Local CDL Truck Driver for their Houston Container facility. This role involves driving a Class A CDL truck for local routes, primarily Monday through Friday during the day, with occasional Saturdays as needed. The position is no-touch freight, meaning drivers are not required to load or unload product, as this is handled by forklifts. Drivers will be responsible for pre-trip inspections, completing necessary paperwork, and maintaining daily driving logs using an on-board computer. Adherence to all speed limits and DOT regulations is mandatory.
Requirements
- Class A CDL
- Tractor Trailer driving experience (3 year minimum preferred)
- Current medical certification
- Excellent Driving Record

Responsibilities
- Perform pre-trip inspections of tractors and trailers, involving walking, squatting, and bending.
- Complete paperwork, including signing Bill of Ladings and Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Utilize an on-board computer for daily driving logs.
- Climb in and out of the tractor as needed.
- Hand crank landing gear to hook and unhook trailers.
- Hook and unhook air lines and electrical lines.
- Open and close trailer doors.
- Spot trailers to docks.
- Follow all posted speed limits.
- Follow all Federal, State, and local DOT regulations.
