About The Position

Olympic Disposal, a Waste Connections Company, is seeking a safety-conscious, reliable, and motivated Class B Driver for a stable, full-time career opportunity in Sequim, WA. This position offers great pay, benefits, and the chance to be home every night. While previous waste industry experience is a plus, it is not required as training will be provided for the right candidate. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays, totaling approximately 45 hours per week. The starting pay is $28 per hour, with opportunities for annual pay increases and bonuses.

Requirements

Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
Clean driving record (please bring a copy of your MVR to the in-person interview)
Minimum 1 year of relevant driving experience
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Safety-Sensitive – YES (Drug Test Required)

Nice To Haves

Previous waste industry experience
Ability to operate 10-, 13-, and 18-speed transmissions
High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste.
Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Perform a physically demanding job, including loading and unloading, sometimes without assistance.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
