About The Position

Drive locally for a dedicated customer in the Blue Springs, Missouri area as a yard hostler and local driver. Use a spotter unit to move trailers around the yard and make local runs between yard moves. Freight is no-touch, so the work involves driving and positioning trailers rather than unloading them.

Choose a morning shift from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. or an evening shift from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Drivers are home at the end of each shift, and weekends are usually off. Holidays are rarely worked unless customer freight demands it. Hours may adjust somewhat between peak and non-peak seasons.

Pay is $28 per hour. Hours over 40 are paid at straight time. Most drivers earn $1,000 to $1,200 per week, approximately $52,000 to $62,400 per year.

Requirements

• Have 6 months of OTR experience after training within the last 12 months, or 12 months of experience within the past 5 years.
• Live within 40 miles of the hub.
• Be able to pass urine and hair follicle drug screening.
