About The Position

This role involves completing opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing the premises. The Bar Porter will stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies, remove soiled wares from the bar and tables, and maintain the cleanliness and condition of work areas and equipment according to established guidelines. The position also requires adherence to all company and safety policies, reporting of accidents or unsafe conditions, and completion of safety training. Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, upholding confidentiality, and protecting company assets are essential. The role includes welcoming and assisting guests according to company standards, anticipating their needs, and providing exceptional service. Developing positive working relationships and supporting team goals are also key aspects of this position, along with ensuring adherence to quality standards. The job requires reading and visually verifying information, standing or walking for extended periods, and performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 50 pounds without assistance. Fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to navigate various surfaces and stairs are necessary. The role also involves reaching, bending, twisting, and performing other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc.
  • Check with captain or supervisor before leaving at end of shift.
  • Set up, stock, and maintain work areas.
  • Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies.
  • Remove soiled wares from bar top and tables.
  • Maintain cleanliness and condition of work areas, bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools, following all set-up guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
