About The Position

Community 1st Credit Union is looking for a talented and ambitious Loan Specialist to join their team in ensuring to preserve the Credit Union's assets. This position will be located at the Headquarters in Ottumwa. The main focus will be related to Motor Vehicle Titles, DNR Titles, UCC Filings, as well as Total Loss Claims. The role involves performing all tasks related to the controlled distribution of loan funds and collateral perfection on consumer loans. Additionally, the specialist will troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely manner, maintain a strong working knowledge of all required loan documentation, and have a good understanding of the Credit Union's underwriting platforms.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Proficient with Microsoft office.
• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
• Must be self-motivated with the ability work well in team environment.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality while promoting a professional environment.
• Must be proficient in 10 key.

Responsibilities

• Posts journal entries, processes payments, and verifies information.
• Files and assists in preparation of reports.
• Performs supporting administrative tasks within general accounting including processing mail and posting accounting entries.
• Maintain all assigned general ledger accounts.
• Perform tasks within a system dedicated to electronic liens.
• Main focus will related to Motor Vehicle Titles, DNR Titles, UCC Filings, as well as Total Loss Claims.
• Perform all tasks related to the controlled distribution of loan funds and collateral perfection on consumer loans.
• Troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely manner.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of all required loan documentation.
• Maintain a good understanding of Credit Union's underwriting platforms.
