About The Position

The Loan Processor is responsible for processing loan requests using an automated software system and following portfolio matrix guidelines. Additionally, this position is also responsible for working closely with the lending staff and borrowers to process loan applications in an efficient and timely manner within secondary market, portfolio, and compliance guidelines. This position will complete more advanced loan processing tasks in support of the loan processing department. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years mortgage loan processing experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Internet applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with associates and supervisor.
  • Must be self-motivated and work in a team environment.
  • Requires a high energy level and strong sense of urgency; ability to work with situations on a “rush” notice.
  • Strong attention to detail & organizational skills.
  • Excellent ability to deal with client’s issues, questions and/or complaints.

Nice To Haves

  • Travel between Republic Banking facilities may be required including occasional out of town travel.
  • Flexible work schedule may include some evenings, weekends and/or overtime.
  • Stay abreast of new developments, best practices, and statutory and regulatory changes.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and analyzing all incoming loan files to ensure appropriate documentation is present.
  • Calculating income and asset information according to LP/DU feedback and portfolio guideline requirements.
  • Clearing non-credit prior to close conditions such as title, homeowner’s insurance, and appraisal modifications.
  • Communicating directly with borrowers, realtors, etc.
  • Processing incoming mail/email daily and determining its effect on the loan request.
  • Responsible for HMDA and CRA reporting.
  • Following up with the lending officer on outstanding issues that need to be cleared.
  • Processing the application fee in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating external activities with title companies, appraisers, insurance agents, and surveyors.
  • Completing daily follow-up on files to ensure receipt of all necessary documentation.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of compliance requirements affecting the position and area of responsibilities and actively learning new regulations and assisting in implementation, if required.

  • Willingly performing all other duties and projects as assigned.
