About The Position

Journey Bank is seeking a Full-Time Loan Processor/Closer to join their team at the Operations Center in Bloomsburg, PA. This role is part of the Loan Processing Department and reports to the AVP, Loan Processing Manager. The position involves supporting the loan processing and closing functions by preparing and reviewing loan documents, onboarding loans, handling phone calls, and reporting information to the supervisor. The bank emphasizes a sense of purpose in assisting the community with their financial journeys.

Requirements

  • Ability to use a computer with Windows and Web-based software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proficient reading and math skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Proficient typing skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive and professional mannerism.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preference for advanced degree and/or specialized training in a business or financial field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a banking or related position.
  • Working knowledge of loans and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures that impact consumer and mortgage loan document services.

Responsibilities

  • Order, process and review appraisals.
  • Type correspondence memos, forms, tables and reports using word processing, spreadsheets and specialized departmental equipment/software.
  • Process mortgage files to prepare for underwriting.
  • Contact loan customers and insurance companies to request information.
  • Work closely with Originators and Underwriters in all aspects of the loan process and closings.
  • Understand and be familiar with all loan products and their specific documents.
  • Provide information and assist in the preparation of various loan reports, including HMDA reporting.
  • Work closely with title agents and abstract companies to prepare closing documents.
  • Verify completion of all loans being closed, ensuring proper approvals and adherence to bank policy.
  • Schedule closings with attorneys and settlement agencies.
  • Review and update secondary market automated underwriting reports.
  • Assemble files and send to PHFA; follow up on any missing documentation with PHFA.
  • Place, direct and assist with internal and external telephone calls.
  • Cooperate with, participate in, and promote adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety, soundness, and compliance with all regulatory requirements, including BSA training.
