About The Position

The Loan Portfolio Analyst provides analytics and reporting for Alpine Bank’s loan portfolio to aid in strategic initiatives and risk management. This role is responsible for providing detailed portfolio analysis and report preparation, identifying meaningful ways to analyze and present information, and highlighting risks in the credit portfolio. The analyst will examine and measure credit and financial performance from multiple perspectives to identify trends and drivers, summarizing conclusions and implications. They will also collaborate with other departments to enhance data quality and develop and execute credit portfolio risk monitoring activities, including analytics and process enhancements as required by regulatory guidance. Additionally, the role involves creating and maintaining reports on key risk metrics, concentrations, and stratifications of the loan portfolio, and preparing ad-hoc risk management reports. Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required.

  • An understanding of loan policy and underwriting standards is key to monitoring existing credit risk and research, independently or collaboratively, to continually enhance relevant credit monitoring reports with analytics given current data structure and anticipated future enhancements.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Colorado Drivers’ License, required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial credit analysis required; or comparable position or completion of a commercial banking training program.

Responsibilities

  • Providing detailed portfolio analysis and report preparation (Loan Composition, Pipeline, Legal Lending Limit, KPI).
  • Identifying meaningful ways to analyze and present information and highlighting the risks in the credit portfolio.
  • Analyzing and measuring credit and financial performance in the portfolio from multiple perspectives, including business lines, product, industry, geographic, etc to identify trends and drivers; summary conclusions and implications from the prepared analysis.
  • Researching, independently or collaboratively, to continually enhance relevant credit monitoring reports with analytics given current data structure and anticipated future enhancements.
  • Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to continually enhance data quality.
  • Developing and executing credit portfolio risk monitoring activities, including analytics and process enhancements as required by regulatory guidance.
  • Creating, enhancing, and maintaining reports on key risk metrics, concentrations and stratifications of the loan portfolio.
  • Performing research to prepare and provide clear and accurate information as requested by auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Anticipating regulatory risk regularly monitoring the regulatory landscape.
  • Identifying risk factors that could impact the bank’s ability to be repaid and communicate it to the appropriate areas.
  • Loan coding, including call report coding, loan purpose, loan type and collateral codes.
  • Monitoring and managing the covenant review process.
  • Preparing ad-hoc risk management reports as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
