About The Position

The Loan Operations Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the full lifecycle of consumer, commercial and mortgage loans. This position ensures accurate loan setup, documentation, servicing, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The Loan Operations Specialist acts as a key liaison between internal teams and external partners to maintain smooth, efficient loan operations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in loan operations, 2 years preferred.
  • Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives.
  • Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems time efficiently; Gathers and analyzes information; Develops solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason.
  • Oral Communication - Speaks clearly and persuasively; Listens and gets clarification when necessary; Responds informatively to questions; Participates in meetings.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to work effectively with time constraints and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Review approved loan packages for completeness and accuracy.
  • Verify required documents, ensure proper signatures, maintain digital and physical loan files, and track outstanding items.
  • Perform post-closing audits, identify discrepancies and resolve errors to maintain data integrity.
  • Works directly with Lender’s, affiliates, and other departments to solve problems, answers questions and provide superior customer service.
  • Assist loan officers with answering questions and obtaining documentation.
  • Ensure all procedures adhere with company policies and government regulations.
  • Review all terms and conditions of loan documentation.
  • Cross-train on other department positions in the office by providing backup to other positions as the workload demands.
  • Understand loan documentation, document recording and title policy review.
  • Loan servicing, payment processing and dispute research.
  • Ensures BSA compliance by reading and being familiar with the BSA/AML program/policy; following all BSA/AML/OFAC policies and procedures; and completing all BSA/AML/OFAC related online courses.
  • Performs other related duties as requested or assigned.
