About The Position

The Loan Officer is responsible for assisting customers with researching loans and navigating the application, approval and settlement process. The Loan Officer’s duties include making recommendations on loan options to clients, explaining their terms, and assessing risks based on the client’s credit and processing documentation.

Requirements

  • Current, active NMLS license.
  • Knowledge of SAFE Act.

Nice To Haves

  • 4-year college degree preferred.
  • Experience with Encompass / Optimal Blue / DU & LP, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and maintain a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities.
  • Advise clients about the risks, consequences, and benefits of alternative lending solutions.
  • Provide an assessment of credit risk by analyzing individual credit/loan application for adherence to guidelines, policies and procedures determined by investors.
  • Use state of the art technology to manage loan pipeline and conduct credit analysis.
  • Maintain an active knowledge base of all of the organization’s loan products and an understanding of the qualifications required of each applicant.
  • Review active loan files to determine if any documentation is missing and request, if necessary.
  • Maintain open communication between processors, underwriters and closers.
  • Communicate with builders/realtors on loan status on a continual basis.
  • Network with local realtors and business associations.
  • Attend bi-weekly loan officer meetings.
