About The Position

The Loan Negotiator plays a critical role in supporting clients who qualify for consolidation loans designed to accelerate the settlement and payoff of enrolled debt. After a client is approved for funding, the Loan Negotiator facilitates the transition from debt settlement to loan graduation by negotiating creditor settlements, coordinating loan‑related tasks, and guiding clients through the final stages of the program. This role requires strong negotiation skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple clients and creditors simultaneously while maintaining exceptional performance metrics. JG Wentworth partners with lenders who specialize in consolidation loans for debt settlement clients looking to accelerate the settlement and payoff of their enrolled debt. Once approved, the Loan Negotiator plays an extremely important role in this process by negotiating settlements on any outstanding debt and consulting with clients on the benefits of the loan and graduation from the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Negotiation or Sales Skills
  • Navigate discussions with lenders and clients to find mutually workable outcomes
  • Communication skills and Active Listening
  • Articulate settlement proposals and convey information to clients, lenders, and internal team members with clarity and precision
  • Carefully assess what lenders communicate and identify opportunities and constraints during negotiations
  • Analytical Thinking
  • Interpret and understand financial data, evaluate hardship situations, determine realistic and strategic settlement offers
  • Strong Attention to Detail to ensure accuracy when reviewing balances, creditor or lender terms, settlement offers, and updating account notes or payment arrangements.

  • Maintaining professionalism and staying composed, reading tone of negotiation, adjusting communication style as necessary

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed production targets for loan originations, settlements and program fees.
  • Manage a book of clients and their debts through loan approval, funding and graduation from the debt settlement program.
  • Maintain exceptional conversions through the lending pipeline for all applicable metrics.
  • Use phone, email, and text to communicate a transparent process and help identify the best solution for each client.
  • Negotiate lump sum settlements on behalf of our clients, leveraging loan funds for more favorable results.
  • Submit program payoff details so lender can package and present loan terms to the client.
  • Finalize all settlement and program payouts to prepare clients for program graduation.
