Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
- Strong knowledge of lending operations, loan funding processes, settlement procedures and indirect lending workflows.
- Experience managing operational SLAs, KPIs, and performance reporting.
- Experience developing and maintaining QC processes and operational controls.
- Ability to prepare executive level reporting and communicate operational performance effectively.
- Knowledge of Lending regulations, compliance requirements, and operational risk practices.
- 5 or more years of progressively responsible loan processing, closing, or funding experience.
- Extensive experience with commercial lending, commercial real estate lending, residential real estate purchases and refinances, construction lending, and participation loans.
- Expert knowledge of commercial and residential real estate loan documentation and settlement processes.
- Advanced understanding of commercial lending structures, business entities, trusts, collateral perfection, title insurance, UCC filings, and construction lending.
- Strong knowledge of closing disclosures, settlement statements, title commitments, and real estate closing requirements.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple high-complexity loan closings.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to interpret regulations, policies, and legal documentation while exercising sound independent judgment.

Responsibilities
- Process, close, and fund complex commercial loan transactions, including commercial real estate, construction, participation, and other specialized commercial lending products.
- Coordinate residential real estate purchase and refinance closings.
- Review complex legal documentation, entity structures, trust documents, collateral packages, title commitments, surveys, settlement statements, and closing instructions.
- Coordinate loan closings with attorneys, title companies, borrowers, commercial lenders, and other external partners.
- Verify all pre-closing and funding conditions have been satisfied prior to funding.
- Review and authorize funding for complex loan transactions requiring advanced technical expertise.
- Serve as the department's subject matter expert for complex loan documentation and funding.
- Resolve advanced documentation, legal, collateral, and funding exceptions.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, internal policies, investor requirements, and audit standards.
- Review complex collateral perfection requirements, UCC filings, title exceptions, insurance coverage, and post-closing documentation.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews on complex loan files and identify operational or compliance risks.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training to Loan Settlement and Funding Processor I and II staff.
- Develop and update departmental procedures and job aids.
- Lead implementation of new loan products, funding procedures, and system enhancements.
- Participate in internal audits, regulatory examinations, and operational reviews.
- Collaborate with Lending, Legal, Compliance, Accounting, and executive leadership to resolve complex loan closing issues.
- Analyze departmental workflows and recommend process improvements that increase operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Serve as the department lead or backup supervisor as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
