About The Position

The ideal candidate for the Loan Control Analyst will have the skills and experience necessary to interpret and review loans to determine compliance with company credit policy and lending standard operating procedures. This role involves reviewing loans for quality, identifying errors in policy and procedures, and making recommendations for corrections and remediation. The analyst will also screen loan files for compliance issues, prepare and analyze loan packages with respect to program guidelines, and perform due diligence. Additionally, the position involves recommending procedures to maintain quality control, monitoring collateral documentation, reviewing files subject to audits, tracking audit exceptions, and performing post-closing audits. Training lending staff on processes and procedures is also a key responsibility, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, business or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience with lending, familiarity with credit/compliance policies and procedures, loan analysis or other directly related experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of lending, loan documentation, credit policies, lending regulations, requirements and audit/review procedures.
  • Strong analysis, problem solving and auditing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with lending staff to resolve review issues.
  • Strong customer relations and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Solid working knowledge of PC software to include Microsoft Office or similar software.

Nice To Haves

  • Banking or Finance experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting and reviewing loans to determine compliance with company credit policy and lending standard operating procedures.
  • Reviewing loan for quality and identify error in policy and procedures.
  • Making recommendations for corrections and remediation of loan errors under either bank or lending standards based on reviews.
  • Reviewing and screening loan files for compliance issues.
  • Preparing and analyzing loan packages with respect to program guidelines and performing applicable due diligence to assure compliance.
  • Recommending procedures to maintain quality control aspects of lending practices.
  • Monitoring and following up on collateral documentation.
  • Reviewing files subject to audits and remediating exceptions prior to audits.
  • Tracking and maintaining audit exception reports.
  • Performing post-closing audit and review of loan files to assure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Training lending staff as needed on processes and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
