About The Position
We are looking for a detail-driven Loan Collateral Specialist to join our Loan Servicing team. This role is the behind-the-scenes engine that keeps our lending operation running smoothly and our members protected. You'll own the full lifecycle of loan collateral - from lien filing to insurance claims - and you'll be a trusted resource for both members and lending staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of financial institution experience
- Familiarity with loan collateral, lien documentation, and lending-related insurance products
- A sharp eye for detail - you catch what others miss
- Strong communicator who can handle sensitive member situations with professionalism and compassion
- Self-starter with solid time management and problem-solving chops
- Comfortable with financial math: loan amortization, payment corrections, interest calculations
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Symitar or similar core banking platforms is a plus (we'll train you on our systems)
Responsibilities
- File and release liens on vehicle titles and real estate loans - keeping everything timely, accurate, and compliant
- Assist members in filing claims for GAP insurance, warranties, collateral protection insurance, debt protection, and more
- Process loan modifications, deferments, and forbearances with precision and empathy
- Communicate with members via phone, email, text, and in person to resolve collateral and insurance issues
- Partner with lending staff to resolve loan exceptions and process corrections
- Track collateral protection insurance (CPI), process premiums, and handle refunds
- Maintain clean audit records and stay current on regulatory and policy changes
