About The Position

As a representative of the bank, the Loan Assistant helps expand OMB’s brand recognition and market presence by engaging community members and customers who may benefit from the bank’s products and services. Loan Assistants work cooperatively with one or two lenders and support other lenders as needed. They assist interested and current borrowers throughout the loan life cycle, including loan documentation from application through closing and ongoing support with renewals, draws, and payments in commercial and agricultural lending. The role works directly with banking support teams to help ensure an outstanding customer experience. Loan Assistants apply knowledge of commercial loan structuring and funding, focus on relationship banking, and are encouraged to identify and cross-sell relevant bank products and services. They also support other activities required for efficient banking center operations.

The position is based at 1535 W. Sunshine St., Springfield, Missouri. The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, averaging 40 hours per week. Overtime and weekend work depend on loan volume. Compensation combines base salary with an incentive based on loan production and job performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of loan and/or loan processing experience.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
• Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of banking operations, documentation, policies, and procedures.
• Effective multitasking and organizational skills.
• Willingness to proactively cross-sell bank products and services.

Nice To Haves

• Three to five years of banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support one or two lenders and assist other lenders as needed.
• Guide interested and current borrowers through the loan life cycle, including documentation from application through closing.
• Provide ongoing borrower support for renewals, draws, and payments in commercial and agricultural lending.
• Work with banking support teams to provide outstanding customer service.
• Apply knowledge of commercial loan structuring and funding.
• Identify and cross-sell bank products and services that benefit customers.
• Cooperatively support other activities needed for efficient banking center operations.
