About The Position

The Loan Assistant represents the bank and helps expand OMB’s brand recognition and market presence by engaging community members and customers who may benefit from its products and services. Loan Assistants work cooperatively with one or two lenders and provide support to other lenders as needed. They assist interested and current borrowers throughout the loan life cycle, including documentation from application through closing and ongoing support with renewals, draws, and payments in commercial and agricultural lending. The role works directly with banking support teams to provide outstanding customer service and applies knowledge of commercial loan structuring and funding. With a focus on relationship banking, Loan Assistants are encouraged to identify and cross-sell additional products and services that benefit customers. They also support other activities needed for efficient banking-center operations. Compensation combines base salary with an incentive based on loan production and job performance.

The primary location is 1535 W. Sunshine St., Springfield, Missouri. The regular schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, averaging 40 hours per week. Overtime and weekend work may be based on loan volume.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of loan and/or loan processing experience.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
• Strong mathematical, problem-solving, and computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of banking operations, documentation, policies, and procedures.
• Effective multitasking and organizational skills.
• Willingness to proactively cross-sell bank products and services.

Nice To Haves

• Three to five years of banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support one or two lenders cooperatively and assist other lenders as needed.
• Guide interested and current borrowers through loan documentation from application to closing.
• Provide ongoing borrower support for renewals, draws, and payments in commercial and agricultural lending.
• Work with banking support teams to ensure outstanding customer service.
• Apply knowledge of commercial loan structuring and funding avenues.
• Identify and cross-sell bank products and services that benefit customers.
• Support activities needed for efficient banking-center operations.
