We are looking for amazing people with a passion for assisting others as candidates for a Loan Assistant in our Lexington Branch Office. This role performs a wide range of accounting, processing and office activities. This is a regular, full-time non-exempt position that is eligible for overtime pay on hours worked over 40 during a work week based on the business needs and your availability. Daily participation at our on-location sites is an important part of our culture. Please be mindful of commute distance when considering applying. As a Loan Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in supporting branch operations and helping our members succeed. You’ll work closely with your lending team to provide exceptional service, accurate loan processing, and dependable accounting support—all while representing Ag Credit’s trusted local presence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Four or more years of related work experience in lending, finance, or office administration.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups.
  • Proven ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, loan accounting systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Post and deposit incoming payments accurately and timely.
  • Prepare accounting reports and handle loan fund disbursements.
  • Prepare and review loan papers, commitments, and loan treatments.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  • Provide courteous, knowledgeable assistance to existing and prospective member/borrowers.
  • Offer general information on association policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine secretarial tasks, including typing, filing, and correspondence.
  • Assist in preparing required branch reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date collateral insurance, financing statements, and collection records.
  • Support internal control compliance in line with accounting principles and established policies.
