About The Position

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Loadout Sample Technician will be responsible for collecting, preparing, and documenting samples of material during the loadout process. This role ensures that product quality meets company standards and specifications by performing accurate and timely sampling and assisting with loadout operations. .

Requirements

  • High school diploma; post-secondary education in Chemical Engineering Technology or Metallurgical Engineering Technology or equivalent relevant work experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience in an industrial environment is highly regarded.
  • MTCU Basic Mill Process Operator Common Core.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license.
  • Sound understanding of sampling procedures, quality control standards, and safety protocols.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow procedures.
  • Comfortable using basic computer systems for data entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Sample and label concentrate bags and log concentrate samples in accordance with established procedures.
  • Label, seal and work with Loadout Operator to organize concentrate bags for shipping.
  • Input records into company database.
  • Perform initial visual inspections and verify sample integrity and documentation.
  • Prepare and distribute samples to the appropriate departments (e.g., lab, quality control) in a timely manner.
  • Clean and maintain sample handling equipment and work areas to ensure safe and organized operations.
  • Communicate with operations, laboratory, and shipping departments to coordinate sample needs and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the area of responsibility.
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
