About The Position

Under the supervision of the Loading Dock Supervisor, the Loading Dock Master provides loading dock access control, traffic supervision, and oversight of loading dock conditions related to safety, cleanliness, and maintenance. This position is principally assigned to Brickell City Centre and is assigned to a specific work hours shift. Shifts and hours are established to meet operational requirements and may be altered. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Loading Dock Supervisor with plans and delivery activities, providing planning, direction, and control of resources for timely, damage-free unloading of shipments. This includes maintaining and enforcing a daily schedule of deliveries, verifying and completing required documentation, and following docking and undocking checklists. The role involves working with Security and Property Management, submitting requests for equipment and repairs, and ensuring the neatness and cleanliness of the work area, warehouse locations, travel aisles, loading bays, and docks. Safety rules must be observed and enforced to reduce accidents and injuries. The position also includes cross-training in other warehouse functions and performing other assigned duties. Responsibilities extend to loading/unloading straight trucks and 53 ft. commercial trailers, moving materials, sorting and breaking down product boxes, and effectively communicating with Receivers, Drivers, Driver Check-in, and Forklift Operators. The Loading Dock Master is responsible for the proper handling of company-issued equipment, reporting safety concerns, completing daily equipment inspection logs, and maintaining product integrity by reporting any damage immediately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver's License Required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to use electric pallet jack as well as stand-up forklift is a must.
  • Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • The individual must have the ability to work a varying schedule which might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays. Work hours may vary, or change based on customer order requirements.
  • The individual must be reliable, responsible, and punctual, with a positive attitude, and work well independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Loading Dock Supervisor with plans and delivery activities.
  • Provide planning, direction and control of all available resources ensuring timely, damage-free unloading of shipments.
  • Maintain and strictly enforce a daily schedule of deliveries for efficient loading dock operations.
  • Verify and/or complete required documentation and reports.
  • Review and follow docking and undocking checklists.
  • Work with Security and Property Management.
  • Work with the Loading Dock Supervisor to submit formal requests and justifications for equipment, long-term repairs and/or modifications to docks.
  • Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work area, the accuracy of warehouse locations, travel aisles, loading bays, and docks.
  • Observe and enforce all safety rules to reduce accidents and injuries.
  • Cross-training other warehouse functions and perform other warehouse duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for the loading/unloading straight trucks and/or 53 ft. commercial trailers.
  • Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and break down product boxes.
  • Effectively communicate with Receivers, Drivers, Driver Check-in, & Forklift Operators.
  • Responsible for the proper handling of all company issued equipment, including PPE, voice equipment etc.
  • Responsible for reporting all safety concerns in the work environment in a timely matter.
  • Responsible for completing daily equipment inspection logs.
  • Must maintain product integrity with proper handling & report damage to management immediately.
