About The Position

Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG) is a retailer-owned cooperative serving over 3,000 retail member stores and operating an extensive distribution network with nine distribution centers. The Loader position supports warehouse operations at a climate-controlled, automated facility. The role uses available resources to assist the warehouse in continuous growth and financial success. Starting pay is $22.90, plus a $0.50 shift differential. The position requires working Saturday and Sunday; scheduled days off will be determined, and schedules are subject to change.

Requirements

• Forklift licensing and certification are required; the employer will provide them. Certification involves written, eye, and hands-on operation testing.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds from ground to shoulder height.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Ability to perform the stated physical activities, including standing, walking, handling objects or controls, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and talking or hearing.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must work Saturday and Sunday; scheduled days off are determined, and schedules may change.

Responsibilities

• Remove palletized totes from stack stations and move them to designated staging areas.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Operate the shrink-wrap machine.
• Replenish pallets to stack stations.
• Perform duties safely and show respect for equipment and other associates.
• Complete housekeeping duties required to maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
