About The Position

This role is responsible for supporting the electroplating autoline by receiving, verifying, and inspecting materials. The position ensures that materials conform to all specifications for the plating processes, including size and count verification. The Loader/Unloader determines the appropriate size, composition, plating process, and thickness for materials based on customer order forms. Key responsibilities include maintaining production and quality standards, adhering to all safety rules, and completing required documentation. The role may also involve assisting customer service, determining plating parameters, verifying and sending racks, visually inspecting parts, performing thickness and adhesion tests, documenting results, issuing "HOLD" tickets for non-conforming materials, and completing various check sheets and request forms. Additionally, the position requires making adjustments to tank temperatures to maintain operating ranges and following all safety rules.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow written instructions accurately.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments, gauges and test equipment proficiently and accurately.
  • Proficient understanding of decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to work well with other people and demonstrate a team player behavior.
  • Must possess and demonstrate good written and communication skills.
  • Accurately read blueprint specifications.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds at frequent intervals.
  • Must maintain "meets expectation" attendance, safety and job performance evaluations.
  • This job requires standing, stooping and bending 100% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, verifies, and inspects materials received from warehouse for the plating processes.
  • Responsible for size and count verification to ensure conformance to all specifications for the plating processes.
  • Responsible for determining size, composition, plating process and thickness for materials from the customer order form.
  • Must maintain production and quality standards.
  • Must conform to all safety rules.
  • Must maintain documentation as required.
  • Performs other duties assigned by supervisor or lead person.
  • Follows customer service schedule and assists customer service when requested.
  • Determines amount of time and electrical current to be applied to parts during plating process in accordance with standard manufacturing procedures.
  • Verifies and sends all racks according to shop order work instructions.
  • Visually inspects parts through cleaning process and post plate rinsing process.
  • Performs thickness and adhesion test and documents as required.
  • Responsible for filling out "HOLD" tickets for any/all non-conforming materials.
  • Responsible for filling out maintenance check sheets, daily check sheets, and maintenance request forms.
  • Makes adjustments if necessary to get tank temperatures in operating ranges.
