About The Position

The Starbucks experience starts in our Roasting Plants where we have a dedicated team of professional roasters and supporting process teams including planning, warehouse management, packaging, roasting, maintenance, engineering and logistics. As a loader technician, you will load green coffee into the Green Coffee Cleaning and Green Coffee Silo Storage system. You will also monitor and maintain the green coffee dust collection system, coordinate with roasting and logistics partners to ensure schedules are met, and assist with coaching and mentoring of new loader technicians. Ensuring inventory accuracy by maintaining records and completing a map of incoming product dock (IPD) for green coffee is also a key responsibility. You will operate a forklift to transport green coffee from interim storage locations in the plant to the loading platform area. Performing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for the loading station and green coffee silo storage areas is required. You will advise maintenance partners of conditions impairing safe and correct operation of green coffee loading and transfer systems. Demonstrating and understanding safety as a core value and following the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforcing and coaching others to do the same is essential. You will understand and follow established safety guidelines, consistently comply with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out). Supporting food safety, legality and quality programs is crucial. You will maintain product quality through adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. Monitoring and documenting quality measures using analytical tools is also part of the role. You will perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values. Maintaining regular and consistent attendance and punctuality is expected.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or 4 years of US military service
• Production or distribution environment (2 years)
• Forklift operator certification or ability to obtain certification
• Ability to lift up to 150 pounds in a safe manner (team lift)
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
