Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial operations is a plus.
  • Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Documents type and quantity of cylinders while loading them onto vehicles using hand trucks, chain hoists, or forklifts.
  • Assesses returned cylinders for surface quality, such as dents, cracks, and burns, and moves cylinders to designated work areas.
  • Cleans cylinders using wire brushes and cleaning solutions.
  • Skillfully replaces valves using wrenches.
  • Connects exhaust manifolds to cylinders and turns valves to draw off residual gas.
  • Tests filled cylinders for leaks by applying a chemical solution around the valve to ensure safety standards.
  • Weighs filled cylinders on platform scales and shares weight data.
  • Secures protection caps over valves.
  • Updates warning and identification tags on cylinders.
  • Provides support by filling cylinders with compressed gas.
  • Skillfully manage forklifts to safely load and unload compressed gas and liquid cylinders to and from delivery vehicles.
  • Identify, sort, and organize cylinders to ensure an effective and smooth refilling process.
  • Assess cylinders prior to filling, following standard operating procedures to maintain excellence.
  • Share activity and deficiency updates to support the team’s goals.
  • Replace safety valves on cylinders.
  • Update labels as needed.
  • Replace pallet straps to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform painting as needed to maintain equipment quality.
