About The Position

This role will be primarily responsible for loading outbound trucks, to include the staging of picked pallets, full pallet picking and loading onto the truck. This role will also be responsible for any picking needs during the 1st shift. This position utilizes stand-up forklifts and/or electric pallet jacks to move product within the warehouse. The warehouse is a multi-temperature food distribution facility.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of RF applications in a WMS environment
  • Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Excellent attention to detail and reading comprehension
  • Effective in working under pressure and time management skills
  • Experience in food distribution, preferably in multi-temperature environments with high amount of perishable goods.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in verifying shipments and completing documentation.
  • Time Management: Efficiently handles multiple tasks to meet deadlines and maintain workflow.
  • Physical Stamina: Capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Problem-Solving: Identifies and resolves discrepancies or issues with shipments proactively.
  • Teamwork: Works collaboratively with other team members to meet operational goals.
  • Safety Awareness: Follows safety protocols and actively identifies and addresses potential hazards

Responsibilities

  • Staging and loading of outbound trucks based on outbound schedule, this may include combining multiple pallets to ensure proper and secure loading of trucks.
  • Full-pallet picking based on outbound schedule
  • Case picking based on outbound schedule and needs of shipping
  • Retrieve stock from storage areas and replenish picking locations according to supervisor instructions
  • Be able to recognize and report discrepancies to a supervisor
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Operate equipment safely and responsibly, ensuring no damage to products or infrastructure.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned areas.
  • Report any observed issues, such as damaged goods or equipment malfunctions, to the supervisor promptly.
  • Operate within the Warehouse Management System, using RF scanners, printers and other devices as needed
  • Meet productivity standards after successfully completing training
  • Comfortable working in all temperature zones, including ambient, cooler (38 degrees) and freezer (0 degrees)
