About The Position

The Loader Operator operates front-end loaders to support all aspects of quarry operations. The role is full-time and hourly, with scheduled hours Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; overtime may be needed. Work takes place entirely outdoors in conditions ranging from extreme summer heat to below-zero cold, wind, and rain. The position may require extended travel to Coldspring quarry locations, including a willingness to fly.

Requirements

Knowledge of typical dimensional stone quarry operations.
General mechanical maintenance ability.
Two years of related experience.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
Ability to lift 70 pounds.
Willingness to travel to Coldspring quarry locations, potentially for extended periods, and to fly.
Ability to work outdoors in conditions ranging from extreme summer heat to below-zero cold, wind, and rain.

Responsibilities

Perform daily equipment checks.
Stay informed about planned quarry activities, including grout removal, loaf tipping, and block loading.
Monitor activity in the immediate work area by employees and visitors.
Know equipment operating limits when using various attachments.
Remain aware of working-surface conditions, including mud, ice, and dust.
Use standard loader hand signals.
Communicate visually and by radio with the supervisor, crew, and OTR drivers.
Maintain quarry roads, ramps, and grout pile surfaces in compliance with regulatory berm-height requirements.
Understand equipment operator manuals.
