About The Position

The Loader Operator operates a straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with a front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas. This role will function as a Plant Feeder Operator and may include possible maintenance and housekeeping of the feeder and plant area when needed.

Requirements

  • 12 months of loader operator experience with 980M/982M loaders
  • Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills
  • Proven safety record
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • High school / GED
  • Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience preferred working in or around heavy equipment, construction, or paving
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus

Responsibilities

  • Operates loader by starting engine, shifting gears, pressing pedals, and turning steering wheel.
  • Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket, drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk material, and moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled.
  • Drives vehicle to work site and moves levers to dump material.
  • Performs assignments outlined by supervisors, following standard procedures.
  • Performs routine maintenance on loader, including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Maintains effective communication with supervisors and customers.
  • Performs Pre-Shift Inspections: Inspects batch plant to ensure a smooth start-up.
  • Inspects gates, drive belts, conveyor belts, and trough and return rollers daily to assure proper functionality.
  • Responsible for batch plant clean up and properly storing and securing all tools and equipment after use.
  • Performs daily inspection of the Water/Boiler System and air systems, following proper start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the site weekly by vacuuming the batch plant office floor, emptying trash cans, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Ensures all areas of the plant are greased and equipped to accept grease on a weekly basis.
  • Inspects all bearings on the batch plant.
  • Inspects Dust Collector monthly to ensure it is in proper operating condition.
  • Checks oil in all gear boxes and checks all drive belts associated with the gear box quarterly.
  • Partakes in annual oil change and updates all drive belts associated with the gear box.
  • Demonstrates commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.
