About The Position

The Loader Operator operates a straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with a front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas. This role functions as a Plant Feeder Operator and may include maintenance and housekeeping of the feeder and plant area as needed. This is a Swing Shift position.

Requirements

  • 12 months of loader operator experience with 980M/982M loaders
  • Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge and skills
  • Proven safety record
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • High school / GED
  • Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including respirators.
  • Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face.

  • Prior work experience in or around heavy equipment, construction, or paving
  • Bilingual Spanish/English

Responsibilities

  • Operates loader by starting engine, shifting gears, pressing pedals, and turning steering wheel.
  • Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket, drives forward to force bucket into bulk material, and then raises and tilts bucket to fill.
  • Drives vehicle to work site and dumps material.
  • Performs assignments outlined by supervisors, following standard procedures.
  • Performs routine maintenance on loader, including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Maintains effective communication with supervisors and customers.
  • Performs Pre-Shift Inspections: Inspects batch plant for smooth startup.
  • Daily inspection of gates, drive belts, conveyor belts, and trough and return rollers.
  • Responsible for batch plant cleanup and proper storage and securing of tools and equipment.
  • Daily inspection of Water/Boiler System and air systems, following proper start-up and shut-down procedures.
  • Weekly maintenance of site cleanliness, including vacuuming office floor, emptying trash, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Ensures weekly greasing of all plant areas.
  • Inspects all bearings on the batch plant.
  • Monthly inspection of Dust Collector for proper operating condition.
  • Quarterly checks of oil in all gear boxes and associated drive belts.
  • Partakes in annual oil changes and updates of associated drive belts.
  • Demonstrates commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies.
