About The Position

FM Industries is a premier manufacturing solutions provider specializing in build to print, precision machined components, anodizing, and engineered thermal spray coatings. They provide customers with leading-edge support from prototype to production. The Machine Operator will run repeat proven parts with low to intermediate complexity, receiving direction from the area Lead, Supervisor, or a qualified area Machinist. This role is responsible for utilizing shop paper procedures, ensuring accurate router accompaniment for all work orders, and inspecting/measuring parts to maintain statistical process controls. The operator must also monitor machine operations for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and ensure company procedures and best machine practices are followed.

Requirements

Ability to speak basic English language.
Must have good communication skills.
Must be able to read and write in English.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma, GED equivalent - Preferred, or Technical School - Preferred.
0-2 years’ experience in a Manufacturing or Production environment.
Knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, precision measuring tools, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

Utilize shop paper procedures including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance-related activities.
Ensure an accurate router accompanies all work orders.
Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistical process controls charts with instruction and supervision from Lead, Supervisor or qualified Machinist.
Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
Alert Lead or Supervisor to any issue(s) on job or machine.
Ensure company procedures and “best machine practices” are being followed and are in place at all times.
